*UNUSUAL COLT M1877 DA REVOLVER.

*UNUSUAL COLT M1877 DA REVOLVER. Cal 41 Colt. SN 148885. Standard Thunderer with 4 1/2” bbl and black hard rubber grips. The unusual feature is the cylinder locking system. It has the usual slots on the back of the cylinder with the cylinder stop in the recoil shield and it has the additional feature of stop slots over each of the chambers with a small round hole and corresponding pin that arises from the left rear bottom of the frame to engage the corresponding hole on the cylinder when the hammer is at full cock. Additionally, the cylinder pin has been modified by having a 1” slot milled in the center with a small flat spring inserted, apparently to provide additional tension for the cylinder. CONDITION: Fair to good. Overall gray patina with light pitting. Left grip is very worn and the right grip is very good, apparently a replacement. Mechanics need attention. Strong bright bore. Firing pin is a replacement. 4-51372 JR30 (750-1,500)
