GEORGE INNESS (American, 1825-1894) APPROACHING THE BRIDGE. Unframed oil sketch on academy board shows a mother and daughter walking down a dirt road approaching a wooden bridge over a small stream. A fence divides the road from a field and there are other men working in the field beyond the bridge. Several large trees are seen leading to a forested hillside. Dark clouds are approaching covering the blue and white cloud sky. Signed bottom right “G Inness”. SIZE: 5-3/4″ x 12″.
