*LOT OF FIVE 1917 ENFIELD RIFLES. Cal. 30-06. All 26” bbls. 1) Winchester. SN 508591. Bbl dated “2-18”. This is rebuilt for a WWII example of a 1917 Enfield, but it retains mostly Winchester parts. CONDITION: Receiver & bbl assembly are complete Winchester including bolt, retaining 85-90% of parkerized finish. Front band retains approx. 95% Parkerizing as does the middle, but has some dings in it. Trigger guard & floorplate assembly retain approx. 65% Parkerizing turning plum, as does buttplate. Bore is bright & shiny with good rifling. Mechanics are excellent. 2) Eddystone. SN 1230053. This rifle has mostly Eddystone parts with exceptions being a “JA” marked WWII replacement bbl & a Winchester bolt. Mechanics are fine as is the bore but could use some cleaning. CONDITION: Receiver is orig blue and is in good condition retaining approx. 75% finish. Winchester replacement bolt is parkerized & retains approx. 65% finish. Bbl & front band are parkerized while center band is blued and trigger guard floorplate assembly retains approx. 85% orig blue. Stock has a crack that runs from bolt relief down to floorplate diagonally and is about 4” long toward front of floorplate. Hand guards are in very good condition. Mechanically fine. 3) Enfield P14(?). SN 9205. There is nothing on receiver except serial number & what appears to be a British or Canadian proof, as is with bolt. Bore diameter at muzzle is .325 so we are assuming this is a Pattern 14. Rifle is in overall fine condition but with little finish remaining on metal. Bore is rough. CONDITION: Bbl & receiver, as well as bolt, appear to have little or no finish and are smooth gray patinas, not having been cleaned. Only markings appear to be foreign proof marks & serial number. Bands & trigger housing retain approx. 50% orig finish with buttplate retaining slightly more. Wood is in very good condition with very minor dings throughout and in a very well done arsenal repair at top area around buttplate that is almost undetectable. There is an “RIA” over “FK” cartouche on left side. Mechanically fine. 4) Eddystone. SN 867013. This is a pleasing looking 1917 with a mixture of Eddystone & Remington parts. Configuration is entirely blue and bore has strong rifling but is pitted throughout. CONDITION: Receiver & bbl assembly retain about 70% orig blue. Front & middle bands retain approx. 70% blue with some pluming & minor rust developing. Trigger guard & floorplate assembly retain about 80% blue with some minor scuffing throughout. Buttplate has about 15% orig finish. Stock & hand guards are in very good condition with no cracks or breaks & one or two minor scuffs, the worst of which being about 1-1/2” long x approx. 1/8” wide below rear sight. There is an arsenal cartouche on left side of receiver which is “RIA” over “FK”. 5) Eddystone. SN 601513. This 1917 is a lend/lease or British purchase rifle being that it still retains red band around front with “30-06” put into it in black ink. Rifle is mechanically sound and appears to be matching. Red band British versions of this rifle are rather hard to obtain in any condition. Rifle is a Century Arms import. CONDITION: Receiver retains approx. 50% orig blue with a lot of spotting and some slight rust spots, particularly around rear sight, from seeing a lot of use. Bolt is blue and is numbered to rifle. Bbl is blue and shows appearances of having had rust cleaned off with a strong bore but dark in grooves. Front end of rifle, bands, sight, and etc. show signs of having had heavy rust cleaned off. Floorplate & trigger guard assembly retain approx. 75% orig blue with no significant marring on any of it. Buttplate retains about 10% orig blue and wood is in solid condition with no major scarring, but lots of minor dings & dents. With a good bore scrubbing rifle should be mechanically fine. 4-58244 BK13 (2,000-3,000)
