COLT 1861 NAVY NAVY CONVERSION. Cal. 38 CF. SN 1838. Usual configuration with 7-1/2” rnd bbl, German front sight blade with plugged rammer hole and attached ejector rod. It has the usual Richards type conversion with a brass grip frame and 1-pc walnut grips. The bottom of the butt is stamped “U.S.N.”. CONDITION: Good. All matching including the cylinder, which is numbered on the backside. Original number is barely visible on the side. Overall retains a smooth gray-brown dark patina with a few scattered pinpoints of fine rust. Only traces of the bbl address are visible and the cylinder has no remaining scene. Patent dates on the frame are sharp and the screws are fine. Trigger guard screws are slightly battered. Bottom of the grips and butt are badly battered with a chipped right toe and a chunk out of the left edge, otherwise are a smooth worn patina. Hammer will only hold at full cock, otherwise mechanics are fine and a worn dark bore. 4-52315 JR734 (800-1,500)
