*LOT OF FOUR U.S. MILITARY RIFLES. Cal. 30-06. All 24” bbls. 1) Remington Model 1903. SN 3300959. Late Remington 1903 dated “11-42”. Rifle has British proofs on rear sight sleeve and is entirely orig Remington with exception of replacement buttstock & middle band. All metal parts with the exception of noted band are marked “R” components as should be on this rifle. Rifle is equipped with a replacement scant stock and what appears to be a Springfield middle band with no sling swivel. An odd feature about this rifle is that it appears that whoever was doing the machine work mistook it for an 03A3 receiver and started milling the rear receiver ring for the 03A3 sight. CONDITION: Metal retains 95-97% of its orig green parkerized finish with a blued bolt. Sights are correct and in fine condition with front sight hood still intact. Stock is a replacement scant stock but is in fine condition with no government acceptance marks. Buttplate is of the smooth 1903 variety with approximately 70% orig finish. Mechanics are in excellent condition and bore is bright & shiny with very strong rifling. 2) Remington 03A3. SN 4076541. This is a very nice example of a mid-production 03A3 with a bbl date of “9-43”. It has a 4-groove bbl, WWII leather sling and all small components are blued. CONDITION: Receiver & bbl assembly retain 95-97% orig green Parkerizing with sight hood intact. Floorplate, bolt & bands retain 90% orig blue. Buttplate also retains 90-95% of orig blue. Mechanics are excellent and bore is bright & shiny. 3) U.S. Remington Model 1903A3. SN 4001116. With Numrich Arms 22 caliber conversion kit installed. Rifle shows as new inside & out with Redfield receiver sight mounted for target shooting as well as a replacement front blade also of the post-war target variety. CONDITION: Receiver & bbl retain nearly 100% of an arsenal re-Parkerizing. Bands appear to be very well refinished in blue, very close to original. Floorplate assembly is parkerized as were all Numrich Arms replacement floor plates with a blued magazine. M2 Springfield bolt appears as new. Bore also appears as new. A very fine shooter that shows a military presence that you could have a lot of inexpensive fun with. 4) Springfield Model 1903 Sporterized. SN 1478936. Rifle has been completely redone for either hunting or target shooting. It has a rapid taper 30-06 bbl with a Lyman front sight and a Johnson (Cutts type) compensator on front. It is equipped with a Redfield receiver sight. Rifle is also equipped with a Springfield National Match buttplate. CONDITION: This rifle is one of the better done examples of a hunting rifle made out of a military rifle, post WWII. It appears that great care was done inletting this rifle into the stock and should make a fine hunting or target rifle. It is a very good example of circumventing the expense that one would have gone through to buy something such as a Model 70 post-war.
