*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903 A1. Cal. 30. SN 1481296. This is a lovely 1903 A1 service rifle that unfortunately somebody tried to pass off as a National Match. Rifle presents as nearly new. Bbl has a Star Gauge stamp on the front, but does not have a Star Gauge number under the wood. Rear sight is a 2700-yd, National Match, rear sight as is the wood with drawing board numbers on both stock and hand guard. “SA” over “SPG” and circle “P” are very prominent. CONDITION: All metal on this rifle shows 98% or better orig grey-green Parkerizing with a couple slight areas of dried grease from being stored. Bolt is nickel steel Parkerized with 98% of the finish and is not numbered to the gun. Buttstock and hand guard are in about mint condition, again both retaining drawing board numbers with just a couple of very minor marks on the upper hand guard, and virtually none on the buttstock itself. Rifle is equipped with a national match coarse checkered buttplate, and the blue screws still retain all of their finish.
