*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903 NATIONAL MATCH. Cal. 30. SN 1484569. This “1936” dated Springfield Armory National Match appears to be in very good overall condition with all the proper features, including Star Gauged bbl and 2700-yd rear sight, as well as nickel/steel bolt which is numbered to the gun and Lyman 48 rear receiver sight and a Lyman front sight with inserts. Rifle is also equipped with a pre WWII era leather sling. Rifle is equipped with a reverse safety that is not very commonly seen on Springfield 03’s. CONDITION: Receiver retains approx. 98% of the dark-gray, almost black, Parkerizing that Springfield was known for in that era. With the right rail bolt body and follower being polished. Bbl retains approx. 85% fading blue in the exposed areas, but has a bright shiny bore with just a little bit of erosion (possibly copper buildup) about half way down. The Star Gauged marking on the muzzle is very prominent. Front band is an oxidized black finish with approx. 85% of its finish with the middle band being blued and retaining 98%. Buttstock & hand guard are in good condition with very minor nicks throughout, but both have National Match drawing board numbers. Cartouche on the left hand side of the buttstock is existing, but non-legible, being as there are two stamps stacked on top of each other. Coarse checkered National Match buttplate retains about 85% of its orig finish. Overall a pretty pleasing National Match that is bound to shoot very well. 4-58256 BK39 (2,500-5,000)
