*OUTSTANDING CUSTOM WINCHESTER HI-WALL WITH CASE & UNERTL SCOPE. SN 110999. Cal. 22 Hornet. 28″ heavy oct bbl, globe front sight & sporting rear. Topped with Unertl 10X 1-1/2″ AO target scope. Muzzle has gold band & short wedge of scroll engraving on each flat. Chamber has gold & platinum band with wedge of scroll engraving on top 3 flats & “HOLLINGSWORTH” marked on left flat. Standard hi-wall receiver is beautifully engraved with flowing foliate scroll outlined in gold wire with gold Indian on horse on left side; similar scroll & gold wire pattern on right with gold Winchester horse & rider. Entire receiver has gold wire border, as does finger lever. This fine work was done by Michael Dubber, signed & dated “1986” on bottom of frame. Mounted with outstanding select grade walnut, checkered forend with Schnable tip, finely checkered straight grip, left side cheekpiece, checkered steel butt plate, gold initial shield engraved with the letter “P”. Accompanied by letter from Antique & Modern Firearms, Inc., dated Dec. 26, 1997, & signed by Charles B. Layson, identifying gun & stating that, in approx. 1976, Mr. Howard Pearl commissioned gunsmith Joe Hollingsworth of Bowling Green, Kentucky, to rework & customize gun with Douglas Premium bbl & restock with “XXXX” special select walnut; engraving to be done by master Mike Dubber of Estes Park, Colorado, and fitted walnut case designed & built by Elmer Bohnsack of Evansville, Indiana. Mr. Hollingsworth also fit the custom rifle with a Unertl 10X 1-1/2″ target scope. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Metal & wood retain virtually all of their fine custom finish, with just a few minor handling marks in wood. Mechanics are crisp with nice shiny bore.
