*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903 A1 NATIONAL MATCH. Cal. 30. SN 1526685. This rifle is about as good as it gets if you wish to have an example of a 1939 03A1 National Match. It has all the bells and whistles including the correct star gauge bbl. CONDITION: Receiver shows 99% of the orig blackish Parkerizing. Rear sight is correct National Match with the “PJ O’Hare” sight cover. Sight cover has some slight rust on it. Polished bolt with the code “D1” on the top of the handle, is numbered to the gun and is in excellent condition although with some coating of dried grease. Bbl retains 98%+ of the orig finish with some dried grease in the area of the front band to muzzle. It is equipped with the standard sight cover. Bore is mint. Front band is black parkerized finish retaining 98% with a couple of very slight marks, but nothing significant. Middle band shows 98%+ of the orig finish and is slightly dirty with one very small rust spot about 1/4” below the “U”. Trigger guard and floorplate assembly show 99% of the same dark Parkerizing. Buttstock has the rack number “76” in the upper right hand edge by the buttplate as well as the drawing board number “D35379” followed by the SN of the gun. Stock has “SA” over “SPG” cartouche as well as circle “P”, which are both very prominent. Stock exhibits virtually no damage other than a couple of slight rub marks from being up against other guns in a rack. Upper hand guard is stone mint with the drawing board number “C64107” directly behind the middle band. Buttplate shows all of its dark parkerized finish and is of the coarse checkered variety that it should be. There is a nickel oiler in the butt trap. This rifle would be nearly impossible to upgrade on. Edwards Collection 4-58520 BK54 (3,000-4,500)
