*SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903. Cal. 30. SN 582968. This 8 of 14 dated Springfield is in outstanding overall condition. Rifle is equipped with a “1918” dated sling. It appears to have not been issued. CONDITION: Receiver retains 85-90% vivid case hardening. Bbl assembly retains 90% blue with the most loss being just above the front band. Front bbl band assembly retains approx. 85% of its blue with middle band retaining approx. 75%. Trigger guard assembly retains 70% of its blue. Floorplate has lost most of its finish and has turned to patina. Single bolt stock is in outstanding condition with a couple of minor scuffs and very sharp finger grooves. It is of the 1 bolt variety and the “JFC” cartouche is very prominent and the Circle “P” proof mark is somewhat worn. Rifle has a finely checkered buttplate that retains most of its finish. Sling is as new. Mechanics are perfect and bore is near mint. Bolt retains better than 85% of its blue with the majority of loss being on the safety base.
