*COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 230957. Usual configuration with 5-1/2″ bbl, 1-line address with rolled panel on the left side “Colt Frontier Six Shooter”. It has 2-line patent markings with rampant Colt in a circle and after market ivory grips with Colt medallions. CONDITION: Good to very good, no original finish remains being a dark plum brown patina overall with fine pitting near the muzzle end of the bbl and on the cylinder. The front sight is changed and about 1-1/4″ of the bbl at the muzzle has been cleaned and artifically aged, probably when the front sight was reattached. The frame screws are battered and the ejector rod head is bent. The grips are a light ivory color with age lines. Mechanics need adjusting, hammer will not hold on safety or half cock notches.
