COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 173744. Usual configuration with 7-1/2″ bbl with rolled panel on the left side. It has original front sight, transverse cylinder pin and eagle rampant Colt hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, the bbl retains 50-60% strong original blue with the balance a dark plum patina with some light pitting around the muzzle. The ejector rod housing retains 60-70% blue, mostly in the gullets with the outer edge a blue/brown patina. The frame retains dark case colors in the sheltered areas with the balance turned silver mixed with dark brown patina and a few spots of light pitting. The cylinder retains 75-80% thin original blue with light freckles of surface rust. The grip frame retains about 30-35% blue, brown on the back strap, silver/gray on the front strap. The left grip has a hairline at the toe, otherwise the grips are sound showing moderate wear with several chips on each side.
