*EXTREMELY RARE MUSCAT & OMAN CONTRACT BROWNING HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 9 mm. SN T195599. This extremely rare pistol has all blue finish with 4-5/8” bbl, dovetail barleycorn front sight with 500 meter tangent rear sight, ring hammer with the backstrap slotted for stock. Fitted with checkered black composition grips and has a stud & lanyard ring on left side of heel. Right side has serial numbers appearing on bbl, slide & frame with various Belgian proofmarks. It has the external extractor and the crest of Muscat & Oman consisting of crossed swords with a dagger and other designs with three small figure-8 designs above. Accompanied by its orig shoulder stock with attached brown leather holster with flap and its orig green, hinged lid FN box, numbered to this pistol, with owner’s manual and a spare magazine in vapor barrier paper. Preliminary research has disclosed that there were two issues of these pistols, the first model was for nine pistols and the second model was for twenty-seven pistols. It is unclear which model this one is. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, as pristine new. Retains virtually all of its bright blue finish. Grips have one small nick with crisp, diamond points. Stock & holster have a few minor handling & storage marks, otherwise are equally new. Box has worn edges with broken corners in the lid but appears to be complete with an oil stain on the lid. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. An exceptionally rare & desirable Browning that it a curio & relic. 4-30058 JR332 (4,500-6,500)
