RARE ZIPPO LIGHTER PERCUSSION PISTOL.

RARE ZIPPO LIGHTER PERCUSSION PISTOL. Cal. About 22. NSN. Most unusual hide-away pistol built into an authentic Zippo lighter with faux scrimshawed ivory side panels on the case. It has a functioning Zippo lighter that, when the lighter is removed, exposes the concealed pistol works. Works are made of brass & steel with recessed hammer & trigger that must be disassembled to load. Removing a screw in the bottom exposes the nipple and allows the trigger to be cocked. The charge & ball are then loaded from the top and the pistol reinstalled into the bottom of the case. With the lighter works back in place and the lid closed, it can be carried in complete safety. Firing the pistol is simply a matter of opening the case lid, which has a small pin protruding from the top rear edge and forcing the pin into a corresponding hole in the back of the case which continues on to release the hammer which strikes the cap and fires the pistol.
