*RARE WWII SEDGELEY EXPERIMENTAL GLOVE GUN. Cal. 38 S&W. NSN. Experimental item, probably generated by the OSS for clandestine operations. It is all metal with a 4-3/4” x 2-3/8” sheet metal backing with six holes for attaching to back of a heavy glove. It has a small box on top with a sliding safety and an articulated, smoothbore 2-7/8” bbl with a plunger adjacent to the bbl. Apparently the intended purpose was to have the wearer simply jam this plunger against the intended victim which would fire the cartridge. It is unknown how many of these were actually made or whether they were ever put into use. It all seems rather impractical. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains about all of its orig blue with some freckles of light rust. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-60217 JR132 (2,000-3,000)
