*RARE EXPERIMENTAL MARLIN MODEL 3000 W/BOX, CONSECUTIVE NUMBER TO PREVIOUS RIFLE. SN 27037108. Cal. 250-3000SAV, 24″ rnd bbl, 2/3 spiraled magazine, serrated ramp front with bead sight and hood, Marlin flip-up sporting rear sight. Left side of bbl is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. / NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. MODEL”. Left side just behind rear sight “250 SAV.” Usual Marlin Model 336 receiver with serial number on top tang. Mounted with lightly figured walnut, uncheckered pistol grip, Monte Carlo, black hard rubber grip cap with white line spacer, Marlin hard rubber buttplate with white line spacer and fixed sling swivel 3-1/4″ from toe. Marlin bull’s eye 4-1/4″ from toe is missing. Standard forend with nose cap with fixed sling swivel. Accompanied with a brown, unlabeled gun box. Handwritten on end “336-250SAV” and serial number in red ink. Enclosed in box is scope base and screws, a Marlin scope marked “4X32” and rings with standard cross-hairs. The previous rifle details the history and extreme scarcity of this rifle. Information on this gun with correspondence to Mr. Rohal from Jim Carmichel, William S. Brophy, Robert W. Behn and article by L.R. Wallack are all included in previous description. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Extremely Fine. As new. Bbl, mag tube and receiver retain nearly all of their orig blue with a couple of minor handling marks. Top of receiver has Loc-tite outline of scope base with proper filler screws returned. Stock is sound with a couple of minor handling marks and retains all its orig finish. Forend is sound, with a couple of minor handling marks and retains all its orig finish.
