*SCARCE COLT BISLEY FLAT TOP TARGET SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). SN 250097. All blue finish with 7-1/2″ bbl, German silver front blade in a square base with fixed target rear sight. It is fitted with rampant Colt hard rubber grips. Accompanied by a Colt Factory letter identifying this revolver as having been shipped January 26, 1904 to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, MO in a shipment of two guns. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains about 70% original blue, strong and bright in sheltered areas with the balance a light patina and some scattered light rust. Frame retains 50-60% thin original blue, strong in the sheltered areas with some fine pitting on the sides of the top strap. Cylinder retains about 75% thin plum blue with strong blue in the flutes. Trigger guard and back strap retain about 50% blue, thin on the grip frame, gray on the front strap, strong around the hammer. Grips are sound, slightly shrunken at the frame and show moderate to heavy wear. Hammer will not hold in the safety notch or half cock, otherwise mechanics are fine.
