ETCHED PANEL COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 106387. Usual configuration with 7-1/2″ bbl, fixed sights with Colt Hartford address and long oval etched panel on the left side of the bbl marked “Colt Frontier Six Shooter”. The frame has 3-line patent markings and it has 1-piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Very fine plus. All matching including the bbl and grips. Bbl retains 93-95% original blue, thin about the middle, strong and bright in the sheltered areas. Etched panel is completely legible showing moderate wear. Frame retains 70-75% case colors, strong and bright in the sheltered areas and on the recoil shield, fading to gray elsewhere. Trigger guard and back strap retain 75-80% original blue, thin on the front & back straps, strong and bright in sheltered areas. Ejector rod housing retains 65-70% original blue, strong and bright in the gullets, thin and turning brown on the outside edge. Cylinder retains 75-80% thin original blue, bright in the flutes. Screws retain most of their bright factory blue. Grips are sound with a few scattered hammer marks and a slightly chipped toe, otherwise retains most of their original bright factory varnish.
