*COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 179717. 1917 production with early military blue finish, 5” bbl with “PH” inspector initials, diamond checkered walnut grips and a full blue WWII “R”-code magazine. Left side of frame, above magazine release has the Gilbert H. Stewart inspector stamp. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Slide retains 85-90% thinning, orig blue, turning slightly plum with strong blue in the sheltered areas. Frame retains about 70% strong, orig blue with a silver/brown front strap and thinning mainspring housing. Bottom front of frame is turning slightly plum. Grips are sound, showing moderate to heavy wear with a splinter missing from right toe. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with some light frosting in the grooves. 4-30689 JR379 (2,000-3,000)
