*MARLIN MODEL 27-S PUMP RIFLE. SN 4180. Cal 25RF. Bbl is 24″ oct bbl with ivory bead front sight and Rocky Mountain rear sight. Top bbl flat is marked “Marlin Firearms Co. NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D AUG. 12, 1890, MAR. 1. ’92., JUNE 8, ’97. NOV. 29, 1904”. Standard receiver with top tang marked “MARLIN / No. 27-S”. Left flat of bbl below rear sight is marked “Special Smokeless Steel”. Crescent steel buttplate, stock and forearm of semi-fancy American black walnut. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Overall very good. Very good bbl blue mixing with patina and small spots of surface oxidation near the muzzle. Left flat of bbl has an area with scratches and minor nicks on the edge. Receiver has strong blue on the top, bottom and right side. Left side has good blue fading to patina. Buttplate has patina with light pitting and spots of surface oxidation. Stock and forearm are sound with good finish having normal wear and handling marks. Mechanics are sound with good bore. 4-40433 DS16 (1,250-1,750)
