*SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 73087. First Springfield contract with 5” “P” & “H” proofed bbl. It has orig sights with usual Springfield markings having a large eagle on right sight of slide with a flaming bomb at left rear of slide and another flaming bomb in position where the inspector initials would be found on a Colt. Fitted with full checkered walnut grips and accompanied by a green cotton, braided lanyard. Magazine is an early Colt with lanyard loop base that appears to have gone through a fire. CONDITION: About fine. Retains most of a re-dipped blue with orig finish underneath. Bbl bushing, slide lock and other small parts are later replacements. Hammer is orig and the thumb safety appears to be also. Grips, of course, are also replacements and show moderate diamond point wear. Magazine shows heavy pitting and crusting. Mechanics are fine, worn bore with fine pitting in the grooves. 4-30034 JR95 (1,250-2,250)
