RARE FREEPORT DRAGONS PEANUT VENDOR. Fresh to the market after being in a Vermont Store since the early 20th Century, this coin-op machine is in untouched, as found, original condition! A most interesting machine where normally there is a viewing window to see the coin, a brass tag has been added, stating that this machine was made by Goo Goo Gum Company of Chicago, Illinois. Without a doubt, this machine was probably purchased, sold, and operated by Goo Goo Gum Co., hence this brass tag and the covering of the coin viewing window. Retaining its original glass (both front and side viewing windows) with paper on front window detailing how to operate the machine. Fabulous decals on the right and left side depicting an American eagle clutching the U.S. flag with a banner encompassing the eagle. With careful and professional help, the original wood finish can be maintained, although a small sliver of wood from the right side of the base is missing. The front iron casting is in fair original paint. Mechanism appears to be in operational order. Truly a rare find and any collector would enjoy getting such a wonderful item from its original store location! SIZE: 17″ t. CONDITION: Overall fair to good. Mechanism not fully tested. Dispensing cup is “frozen” in place. Padlock heavily rusted. One foot on front casting is present but detached. 1-7528 JL (6,000-12,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2007 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
