GEORGE ARTHUR HAYS (American, 1854-1945) “SPRINGTIME”. Oil on canvas spring scene shows a flock of twelve sheep facing the viewer in a grassy enclosed pasture. Stone walls lead to two red barns and a wood fence all framed by blossoming apple trees and other larger trees under a blue sky. Signed lower right “GA Hays”. Titled, signed and dated “29” on back of canvas. Housed in a fine carved wood gilt frame. SIZE: 16” x 20”. CONDITION: Craquelure, some surface dirt. Otherwise very good. 9-71567 (1,300-1,600)
