EVANS DOUBLE BARREL DAMASCUS PERCUSSION SHOTGUN. SN 220. 10 ga. 30-1/2” ribbed bbl. Marked “J. E. EVANS PHILADA” on both locks and the bbl rib. Fancy grain, walnut stock has a long checkering pattern at the wrist and separate patterns on each side of the forearm. The ramrod has a brass tip and a ball screw covered with copper at the tail. The nipples are replaced. Companion JE Evans derringer will be found elsewhere in this auction. CONDITION: About half of the brown remains on the Damascus pattern of the bbl with light to moderate pitting at the rear. Casehardening has silvered out on the locks with only a mottled pattern remaining. Wood is fine with minor dents and scratches at the rear somewhere on the forearm.
