*MARLIN MODEL 47 SPECIAL STOCK PURCHASE PUMP RIFLE. SN 513. Cal .22 S,L,LR. Bbl is 22″ rnd with standard .22 cal. front sight and fixed .22 cal. rear sight. Bbl is marked “The Marlin Firearms Corporation, NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A./PAT’D, U.S.A. MAR 24, 1908,2 PATENTS” Tubular magazine of 18 rnd capacity. Standard receiver with striped pattern case colors produced by cyanide dip method. Top tang marked “MOD. 47”. Stock and forend are of plain American walnut with simple diamond pattern checkering. S-shaped steel buttplate. The model 47 was not a catalog featured rifle. It was only available with purchase of Marlin preferred stock and has the same features as the model 20 with the addition of case colors and checkering. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl has 955 blue with light handling marks. Magazine tube has good blue mixing with patina. Vivid case colors on the action becoming light on the bottom tang. Buttplate has patina with spots of surface oxidation. Sound stock with very good checkering and normal handling marks. The finish is very good overall with some streaks and spots that have a dull appearance. The action has crisp mechanics. Bore is bright with strong rifling and some very shallow pitting. 4-40431 DS15 (1,500-2,500)
