*EARLY COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 18372. Early 1913 production. Usual configuration with 5” commercial bbl, usual slide markings with 1911 as the last patent date. It has rampant Colt in a circle at left rear of slide. It has usual frame markings with Walter G. Penfield inspector stamp and diamond checkered, walnut grips. Accompanied by a 2-tone lanyard loop magazine. CONDITION: Fine. Slide retains 85-90% orig blue, strong on sides, thinning over top with a spot of rust pitting on left side about ejection port. Rear sight has been changed to a flat top. Frame retains about 75% strong orig blue, mostly on sides with front strap a mottled blue/gray patina. Spring housing is gray metal & grip safety strong blue with some light surface rust. Grips show moderate to heavy wear, more so on right side. Magazine retains 60-70% dull orig blue with white area a gray patina. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with some slight scuffing in grooves. 4-60711 JR98 (2,000-3,000)
