*RARE 1924 TRANSITION COLT MODEL 1911-1911A1 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 706624. Rare transition piece, one of 10,000 made in that time frame with features of both the 1911 and 1911A1. It has blued finish with 5” bbl that has intertwined “PH” proofs over the chamber. It has the thick front sight with standard wide rear sight, full checkered walnut grips with short checkered trigger, long, wide hammer spur and a long grip safety tang. Accompanied by one unmarked, flat bottom, 2-tone magazine. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new. May have been fired, but if so very little. Slide retains 98-99% strong, bright, orig blue with faint muzzle edge ear & a couple of tiny scratches on right side. Frame retains about 99% strong orig blue. Bbl shows light scuffing over chamber area and at muzzle and may have been fired as it has some slight scuffing in a couple of the grooves. Magazine is crisp. Grips are crisp with only very faint diamond point wear. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-30036 JR97 (4,500-6,500)
