ORNATE ORMOLU AND BOULLE INLAID SHELF CLOCK. Fabulous clock has a brass movement with bell strike signed “L. E. P. Japy & Ciemedailles S 24”. Clock case having a removable top has a 10-1/2” Minerva statue in ormolu above a shaped crown with other ormolu mounts having brass inlay marquetry over a tortoise shell type background. Clock case, having similar inlaid brass work on tortoise style background, has four Greek type figural corner mounts and central winged god chariot driven by two horses. Footed case mounted on a shaped base with four horses and decorative ormolu mounts and feet. 19th/20th Century. SIZE: 44” h x 24-1/2” x 9-1/2” d. CONDITION: Very good, missing pendulum.
