*MARLIN 1894 DELUXE SPECIAL ORDER RIFLE. SN 215402. Cal .25-20 M. Shipped 1901. Rnd, special order length 27″ bbl. Marbles ivory bead front sight with a Winchester open rear sight. Markings on bbl are “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PAT’D OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2, 1889. AUG. 1, 1893.” Half length magazine. Standard receiver marked on top “MARLIN SAFETY”. Hammer is gunsmith altered with right hand offset spur. Lyman No. 1 combination tang sight. S-shaped pistol grip stock and rifle forend with style-A checkering of fancy American walnut. Crescent steel buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very Good overall. good bbl blue blending with patina. Receiver has light case colors in protected areas blending with a dark overall patina. Buttplate has a dark patina. Stock has a small chip on left side at the receiver and another at the toe. Stock and forend have re-cut checkering, good finish with normal wear and handling marks. Sound action. Bore has good rifling with darkened appearance. 4-40405 DS38 (3,000-5,000)
