*EXTREMELY RARE REMINGTON NO. 7 ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE. SN 300312. Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). Extremely rare rifle in a more rare caliber. This rifle is listed only in 22 caliber & 25-10 Stevens caliber with no known listings for a 32-20. The caliber is authentic & markings in two places on bottom of bbl support the authenticity. Rifle has 26″ oct to rnd bbl, gold washed Beach’s combination front sight, no provision for a rear sight and has its unique Lyman loop tang sight mounted on its orig pedestal at top rear of frame. The action is of the 1871 Rolling Block pistol and is identical in just about every way with “P” and “S” markings on left front. It has a very nicely checkered trigger. Mounted with very nicely figured slab sawed checkered American walnut with long, thin, black insert schnable tip forearm & very distinctive shaped capped pistol grip stock with Remington embossed hard rubber buttplate. A total of less than 500 of these rare rifles were made in period 1903-1906 with no known listing for the 32-20 caliber. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching. Bbl retains about 98% strong orig factory blue with a couple of minor scratches & some slight surface etching, mostly over octagonal area. Front sight retains just about all of its gold wash on the loop. Receiver retains most of its brilliant factory case colors with one small spot of rust on top over chamber area & slight fading on trigger guard & lower tang. Top tang is brilliant. Breechblock & hammer retain most of their orig bright factory blue. Wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches with one small grain check at top of wrist and retains virtually all of its strong, bright, orig, factory varnish. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore with light pitting just in front of chamber. 4-37228 JR377 (3,000-5,000)
