*MARLIN MODEL 94 TAKE-DOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 377667. Cal. 25-20, 24″ rnd bbl, full mag take-down, Sheard fine bead front sight, 2-leaf Hepburn flip-up rear sight. Top of bbl “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893.” Adjacent receiver ring “25-20M”. Standard receiver with top-mounted peep sight marked “MARLIN / PAT’D. JUNE 30. 1903”. Top tang marked “MARLIN / MODEL ’94.” Mounted with straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, S-cut steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. Inspection of inside tangs reveals matching “377667” number on left side of top tang and top tang channel of stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Fine+. Bbl and mag tube retain 90-95% orig blue with some normal nicks & scratches, some minor spots rubbed bright, thinning and toning purple on mag tube. Receiver retains 85-90% orig case colors thinning and blending with silver patina across bottom and sharp edges. Hammer and lever show faded orig case colors blending with silver and brown patina. Stock is sound with normal nicks, dings & light scratches and retains orig finish that has been waxed. Forend is sound with normal nicks & dings, retains orig finish that has been waxed and blended with hand-worn patina. Nose cap has orig blue that has flaked and blended with brown patina and silvered on sharp edge. Mechanics are crisp with a bright shiny bore. 4-40393 BDT203 (1,500-2,500)
