HENDRIK BAREND KOEKKOEK (Dutch, 1849-1885) PREPARING THE BOATS. Oil on board scene shows a large group of people preparing boats for a fishing trip. The low tide has three boats on sand, people are walking along beach and are working in boats. In the foreground is a thatch roof connected house with a man seated on a rock. Mountain in the background. Signed lower left “H B Koekkoek” and dated “1878”. Back board stamped “Academy Board George Rowney & Co., London”. Housed in a modern pierce edged fancy frame with liner. There is a frame label from the Art Emporium from Vancouver, B.C. on back. SIZE: 12” x 20”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-29041 (3000-5000)
