EARLY FRENCH CARTONMOULE SHOULDERHEAD DOLL CIRCA 1820. Rare early doll with molded and painted features mounted on a white leather French body with straight legs and wearing original printed cotton clothing and elaborate silk and lace cap. The base is surrounded by eight painted spit curls, and has rouged cheeks, pursed mouth and lovely expression. SIZE: 17″ (44cm). CONDITION: Very good, possible paint touch up to nose and neck area. 1-8072 (4,500-5,000)
