*OUTSTANDING MARLIN MODEL 1894 DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 314588. Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). Fine deluxe rifle with 24″ oct bbl, full magazine, blued steel blade Rocky Mtn. front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight and Lyman loop tang sight with 3-position aperture. Mounted with very nicely figured American walnut with “A” style checkered forearm and scarce straight grip with Marlin semi-crescent smooth steel buttplate. SN is on the bottom of the receiver, left side of top tang under the wood and inside the top tang channel of the butt stock. Buttplate is unnumbered but it is readily apparent that it is orig to this rifle. While Model 94 rifles are reasonably common they are almost never encountered in near new, unfired condition such as this one appears to be. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching except buttplate as noted. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 99% strong orig blue with slight muzzle edge wear and faint sharp edge wear with a couple of tiny spots of surface rust. Receiver retains brilliant case colors on left side & top with right side & bottom lightly faded. Bolt retains about all of its bright factory blue. Lever & hammer retain strong case colors in sheltered areas turning silver on outer faces. Buttplate retains about 95% strong bright blue. Forend cap retains about all of its strong bright blue. Wood is sound with a very few, very scattered small chips in the finish and overall retains about all of its bright orig factory piano varnish with crisp checkering. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore, may be unfired. 4-40416 JR298 (3,000-5,000)
