*MARLIN MODEL 1894 TAKE-DOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 272744. Cal. 25-20, 24″ oct bbl, full mag take-down, Marble #3 tunnel front sight, flip-up single leaf Marble rear sight. Top flat of bbl is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893.” Adjacent receiver ring “25-20M”. Standard receiver with top marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. Top tang equipped with tang sight. Mounted with straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, crescent steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. Inspection of inside tangs reveals matching “272744” on left side of top tang and top tang channel of stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Fine+. Bbl and mag tube retain 95-97% orig blue with some minor nicks & dings, starting to show bright on sharp edges, minor shallow dent in outer mag tube 2-1/2″ from nose cap. Receiver retains 85-90% orig strong case colors, thinned and blending silver patina in center left side, thinning across bottom and starting to silver on sharp edges. Hammer and lever retain strong orig case colors. Stock is sound with some nicks, dings & dents and retains orig finish that has been waxed. Buttplate shows fading orig case colors. Forend is sound with some nicks, dings & shallow dents with orig finish that has been waxed and blending with some hand-worn patina.
