IMPORTANT FREDERICK CARDER PRESENTATION VASE. Baluster form vase with vertical coloration of blue and deep purple with a soft green cased lining which is decorated with an art nouveau silver overlay pattern of flowers, intricate stems and leaves. Vase is further overlaid with a cartouche inscribed “To my dear friend John Northwood 1st as a token of appreciation and esteem from Frederick C. Carder”. Vase is also stamped “Sterling” twice on either side of bottom rim. SIZE: 13″ t. PROVENANCE: Ex-Hoover Collection; Sotheby’s New York, 1982 Sale #4958 Lot #94. Bonham’s Ex-Joan Callner Miller Collection, April 2007 Lot #1023. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with one silver overlay stem missing believed to have been done at the factory. 5-66805 (8,000-12,000)
