*MARLIN MODEL 94 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 393619. Cal. 25-20, 24″ rnd bbl w/ Ballard-type rifling, half magazine, dovetail straight-blade front sight with set screw, blank in rear seat. Top of bbl marked “MARLIN FIREARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893.” Adjacent receiver “25-20M”. Standard receiver with tang mounted peep sight, mounted with straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, curved steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. No attempt was made to inspect inside tangs. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Extremely Fine. Bbl and mag tube retain 98% orig blue with some minor nicks & scratches and 2 spots of very fine, faint surface oxidation. Receiver retains virtually all of its dark, strong orig case colors. Stock is sound with a few minor nicks & scratches and retains nearly all of its orig varnish. Forend is sound with some minor scratching in center of bottom and retains nearly all of its orig varnish. Nose cap has strong orig blue with left side flaked and blending with brown patina.
