*SCARCE MARLIN MODEL 94 TRAPPER SRC WITH 16 INCH BARREL. SN 442850. Cal. 25-20, 16″ rnd bbl, full magazine, square base fine bead front sight, 2-leaf carbine rear sight. Top of bbl is marked “MARLIN FIREARMS CO, NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893.” Adjacent receiver “25-20M”. Standard receiver with top tang marked “MARLIN / MODEL ’94”, left side with staple and ring. Mounted with lightly figured walnut, uncheckered straight grip, steel carbine buttplate, 8-1/8″ forend with band. Inspection of inside tangs reveals matching “442850” number on left side of top tang and top tang channel of stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Fine+. Bbl and mag tube retain 95-98% orig blue with faint muzzle wear and some minor nicks & dings. Bbl bands have orig blue but have been rubbed bright on high spots blending with silver patina. Receiver has 90-95% orig blue, silvering on sharp edges, thinning and blending with silver patina across bottom, some minor nicks & scratches and faint ring mark on left side. Bolt retains orig blue flaking and blending with brown patina. Hammer shows most of its orig blue, lightly silvering on right side. Lever shows fading orig case colors blending with silver-gray patina. Stock is sound with normal nicks, dings & scratches and retains an added coat of finish. Buttplate shows orig blue blending with silver patina. Forend is sound with normal minor nicks & dings, retains a thin coat of added finish blended with hand-worn patina.
