*RESTORED MARLIN MODEL 94 DELUXE EASTERN CARBINE. SN 405828. Cal. 38-40, 20″ rnd bbl, full mag, barley corn front sight, standard carbine ladder rear sight. Bbl is marked “MARLIN FIREARMS CO, NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893”. Adjacent receiver “38-40”. Standard receiver with top tang marked “MARLIN / MODEL ’94.” Mounted with lightly figured straight grain walnut, checkered pistol grip, crescent steel buttplate, standard forearm with diamond checkered bottom and single band. Gun is accompanied with Doug Turnbull Restoration invoice quoting work to be done as; fit bbl and bolt, cut & fit new mag tube, new mag cap & screw, fit forend wood & bbl band, bend & fit lever to receiver, polish & case color lever, age lever to match rifle. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Very Good to Fine. Bbl retains 90% orig factory-quality blue with muzzle wear, some fine nicks & scratches. New mag tube retains nearly all of its fine matching blue. Front band retains 75% blue blending with silver patina. Replacement forend band retains all of its fine restored blue. Receiver retains strong orig case colors blending with silver patina on front edges, some spots of fine surface oxidation on left and spots of deeper oxidation on right. Hammer retains good orig blue blending with some silver on sides. Lever retains virtually all of its restored case colors. Stock is sound with re-pointed checkering, some minor handling marks and retains a fine, restored finish. Forend is sound with nicely re-pointed checkering, some minor nicks & dings and retains a fine, restored finish. Mechanics are crisp with a bright shiny bore. 4-40422 BDT219 (1,500-2,000)
