RARE WARD BURTON RIFLE. Cal. 50/70. NSN. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. Marked eagle followed by “U.S. / SPRINGFIELD 1871” on left side of receiver and “WARD BURTON PATENT / DEC.20.1859 FEB.21.1871” on top of bolt. “JWK” and “ESA” cartouches on left side of stock. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina overall. Wood has normal dents and scratches. Mechanically fine. Bore is very good with light pitting. Edwards Collection 4-58465 (1,500-3,000)
