*SCARCE SWITCH AND SIGNAL 1911-A1 MILITARY PISTOL WITH ACCESSORIES. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 1085627. This scarce pistol is standard 1911-A1 with 5″ blued bbl, dark gray parkerized finish with usual “U.S. & S. CO. / SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A.” with the “USS” logo on the slide and the “RCD” inspector proof on the left side of the frame. It has full checkered brown plastic grips, a blued bbl and full blue magazine with “S” contractor mark on the toe. It is accompanied by a wood-framed glass display case, 22-1/2″ x 17-3/4″ x 6-1/4″, which contains a canvas pack, a 1943 dated canteen cover containing an original 1945 dated steel canteen and cup, a 1942 dated web belt, and a post-war military black U.S. marked shoulder holster. There are also three spare magazines and a small U.S. flag rolled up in a cigar tube. CONDITION: The pistol is very fine, retains about 95% strong original parkerized finish with two small spots of cleaned rust on the right rear of the frame. The grips are fine. Crisp mechanics with strong bright bore that needs cleaning. The accessories are very fine. The show case is very good. 4-53487 JR946 (1,500-2,500)
