*EARLY 1960’S BROWNING SUPERPOSE GRADE 1 RKLT OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN. SN 22237. Cal. 20 ga. 28″ bbls with matted, vent rib with sgl silver sighting bead, 3″ chambers, choked MOD / FULL with gold sgl selective trigger & ejectors. Chamber area of top bbl on left side marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS MO. & MONTREAL P.Q. / SPECIAL STEEL – 20 GA – SHELLS 2-3/4″ & 3”. Right side “PATENTS NO 2203.378-2233.86 / MADE IN BELGIUM”. Receiver engraved with standard fine scroll & floral and trademark circle “R” / “BROWNING” and bust of John Browning on bottom. Mounted with select grade straight grain walnut, checkered rnd knob pistol grip with long tang & Browning horn butt plate. Checkered field style forend. Bore diameter: top -.612, bottom -.612. Bore restrictions: top -.032, bottom -.012. Wall thickness: top -.038, bottom -.040. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz. LOP 14-1/4″. Accompanied by “REDHEAD” brand 30″ hand-tooled leather case no. 17566 FD. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 98% orig blue with just a couple minor nicks & faint edge wear on rib. Receiver has 98% orig blue with some very minor sharp edge wear. Long tang trigger guard has 95% orig blue with minor sharp edge wear & starting to thin through grip. Stock is sound with a couple minor nicks & scratches & a little crazing of finish in heel & toe area. Checkering is clean & dry. Forend is sound with most of its orig finish with just some slight wear on right side bottom. Butt plate has a couple of spots of what appears to be brown paint. Mechanics are crisp with strong ejectors & shiny bores. Case is in excellent condition with all leather straps. 4-37241 BDT89 (2,500-3,500)
