BOKER SILVER AND GOLD MOUNTED GAUCHO KNIFE. SN 18. Fine early Gaucho knife with 5” flat ground blade that tapers from 1-1/4” at the ricasso down to a point and is marked on the left side with the makers name and logo and stamped vertically “ALEMAN”. The handle is 4-1/2” long and tapers out from the handguard. The back of the blade has coarse file work and is marked “ARBOL”. The original leather sheath is covered in 800 fine silver and is so marked. It is stamped on the throat and belt chip “AMOROSOLLERA Y CIA”. The belt clip is on one side with 9 gold flowers and the gold initials “RD” in open filigree at the tip. The handle has two additional gold flowers along with its beautiful engraving. CONDITION: Silver is severely oxidized and worn. Blade has been sharpened and has about 1/32nd inch broken from the tip. A beautiful example of a Gaucho knife. 4-50658 JR236 (1,000-1,500)
