MARLIN MODEL 1894 DELUXE TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 150128. Cal. 32-20, 24″ oct bbl, full mag take-down, combination front sight, Lyman 2-leaf rear sight. Top of bbl marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893.” Adjacent take-down ring “32-W.” Standard receiver with top marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. Top tang with tang sight with large disc. Mounted with lightly figured walnut, checkered pistol grip, crescent steel buttplate, standard forend with checkered diamond on bottom with nose cap. Inspection of inside tang finds left side of top tang marked “118311” and top tang channel of stock matching serial number “150128”. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Extremely Fine. Bbl and mag tube retain 95-97% orig blue thinning on sharp edges, a few minor nicks & scratches, rub mark on top flat behind rear sight. Receiver retains 95% orig case colors with some light scratches thinning and blending with silver patina on bottom. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, normal nicks & light dings and retains orig finish that has been waxed with a dark streak on left side of comb from flaked finish and oil added. Forend is sound with nicks, dings & small bruises, good checkering with a couple of flat points and retains an orig finish that has been waxed. Nose cap retains orig blue thinning on front edge and blending with silver patina. Mechanics are crisp, shiny bore with slightly dark grooves. 4-40411 BDT204 (4,000-6,000)
