*LOT OF THREE SPRINGFIELD KRAG FIREARMS. Cal. 30-40. 1) Model 1896 Rifle. SN 90779. Standard rifle with 30″ bbl, usual markings, 1-pc stock with handguard & military leather sling. CONDITION: Fair to good. Traces of orig finish remain on bbl & receiver with balance a gray metal color. Handguard has two or three small cracks, otherwise wood is sound with a dark oil stained patina. Good mechanics, strong dark bore. 2) Model 1898 Rifle. SN 452438. Standard rifle with 30″ bbl, usual markings, 1-pc stock with sharp 1903 cartouche, missing handguard. It has smooth buttplate with trap containing a 3-pc cleaning rod and nickeled oiler. Accompanied by a commercial military style sling. CONDITION: As noted, otherwise fine. Bbl retains thin blue/gray finish in exposed area, strong & bright under handguard area. Receiver retains silvered case colors. Wood is sound with a minor chip or two and retains generous amounts of orig finish. Good mechanics, strong bright bore with a ring about 2″ from muzzle. 3) Model 1899 Carbine. SN 349416. Standard carbine with 22″ bbl, rifle rear sight, standard markings, mounted in an orig carbine stock with “1901” cartouche and handguard with sight protector hump. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl is a blue/brown patina and receiver has traces of case colors. Wood is sound with nicks, dings & scratches and retains generous amounts of orig finish.
