RARE MAUSER BROOMHANDLE CARBINE. Cal. 30 Mauser. SN 174. Unusual pistol carbine with 11-3/4″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp globe front sight and 500 meter tangent rear sight. It has a small, semi-schnable tipped forearm that extends around the front of the frame and is attached by means of a metal insert in the wood that attaches over a key on the front of the frame. The front of the magazine floorplate is extended out over the bottom of the forearm. The detachable butt stock is removed by means of a small button on the left side of the grip area. The frame is flat sided and there are English proofs on the bbl and various parts. The buttstock is nicely figured walnut with a Mauser embossed checkered hard rubber buttplate. The stock and forearm have sling eyes. CONDITION: Very fine, the bbl & slide retain most of their original bright factory blue with only a minor scratch or two. The extractor, sight slide and firing pin retainer retain most of their original bright niter blue. The frame has been cleaned with some light touch up blue on the sides. The forearm has a repaired crack on the left side and the butt stock a repaired sliver by the right tang, otherwise retains most of a fine professionally restored finish.
