*MARLIN MODEL 94 DELUXE TAKEDOWN RIFLE. SN 230183. Cal .32-20. Oct 24″ bbl with Marble No. 5 front sight and Rocky Mountain rear sight. Bbl marking on top flat “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT, U.S.A./PATENTED OCT. 11, 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG 1 1893.” Magazine is of full length. Case colored takedown receiver with small-length locking cam. Lyman No. 1 combination rear sight. S-shaped pistol grip stock and forend of selected American walnut with No. B checkering and crescent steel buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Overall very good. Very good bbl blue with edge wear, normal handling marks and some spots of light patina. Mag tube is 95% blue. Receiver has good case colors in the protected areas with the balance fading to a patina with areas of white surface corrosion. Buttplate has traces of case color mixing with patina and spots of light pitting. Stock has a small repair to the right side between the bottom tang and the checkering. Checkering is good. Stock finish is very good with normal wear and handling marks. Forend has a very small grain crack at receiver extension with good checkering, good finish and normal wear and handling marks. Action is sound with some looseness in the takedown mechanism. Bore is good overall with some darkening and a small amount of very light pitting. 4-40412 DS30 (3,000-5,000)
