FREDERICK STONE BATCHELLER (American, 1837-1889) A SQUIRREL’S WORLD. Oil on wood panel woodland scene shows a fallen log having a small red squirrel standing on its back legs eating an acorn. The forest has colorful red and gold bushes, moss covered gray rocks and there is an opening which shows low hills and blue skies. Signed lower right “Batcheller”. Housed in a gold painted molded wood frame. SIZE: 18-1/2″ x 22-1/4″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-99542 (1,500-2,500)
