*UPGRADED BROWNING MIDAS SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. SN 5840S69. Cal. 12 ga. 26-1/2″ bbls. Hand filed vent rib, white center and white Bradley front sighting beads. 2-3/4″ chambers, SK/SK choked, gold selective sgl trigger and ejectors. The left side of bbl is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS MO. & MONTREAL P.Q./MADE IN BELGIUM” right side “SPECIAL STEEL-12GA-SHELLS 2-3/4″/PATENTS NO 2203.378-2233.86”. Each side of rib has a 2″ wedge, a foliate scroll with punch dot background. Upgraded receiver in standard Midas pattern with 3 gold pheasants in flight and gold wire on left side, 3 gold ducks in flight with gold wire on right. Gold quail in flight on bottom and signed “MILLS” on lower right rear corner. Mounted in a colorful piece of flame grained walnut with checkered pistol grip, flat knob, short tang, Browning hard rubber butt plate and checkered rounded fluted target forend. Bore diameter: top -.724, bottom -.723. Bore restrictions: top -.005, bottom -.004. Wall thickness: top -.033, bottom -.034. Drop at heel: 1-7/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz. LOP 14-1/4″. Accompanied with recent Browning luggage case #1515. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 97-98% of a fine factory quality restored blue. There is a faint rub mark from forend on bottom bbl and filled hole in each center rib about 1/2″ in front of forend. Center bead is installed with slightly forward rake. Receiver retains nearly all of its fine factory quality restored finish. Stock is fine and appears to be a true factory Midas grade stock with a few minor handling marks and minor chip at upper left front side of tang and carries most of a factory finish. The early target forend appears virtually new and factory finish. Mechanics are crisp, strong ejectors, and shiny bores. Browning luggage case is about new. 4-35348 BDT102 (4,000-6,000)
