*RARE MAUSER “SS” KKW GERMAN MILITARY TRAINING RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. SN 28967. Commercial version with “BUG” proofs & commercial markings on receiver. This rifle was adopted by the SS for sub-caliber training. Made to resemble a 98 Mauser with a replacement ivory bead front sight and a 200 meter military style rear sight that has had a slight alteration. Rear receiver bridge is drilled & tapped. Accompanied by a commercial sling. Right side of the rear receiver bridge is marked “DEUTCHES SPORTMODELL”. Right side of butt has a large cartouche in a circle, “RF” with “SS” runes. CONDITION: Fine, as noted, all matching. Bbl retains 93-95% blue turning plum and receiver stronger, brighter blue. Wood is sound with light nicks & scratches and retains a fine oil finish. Missing its cleaning rod. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-31188 JR463 (800-1,200)
